Students, you may now take AR tests at home.  Follow the link and log in.  Read, Read, Read, over Spring Break.  See you in ten days!!!

Congratulations to Sierra Primary School’s newest Honor Roll, Citizenship, Perfect Attendance, AR reading champions, and Students of the Month.  Keep up the great work!

Sierra Primary School has been up to a lot these past few weeks:

We have seen the Odyssey of the Mind students take second at regionals and continue onto the State Championships.  They are the sixteenth best team in the entire state.  Great job everyone.

Mrs. Starcevich’s Fifth Grade took first place at the Lassen County Science Fair for their classroom project.

Fifth grade also saw one of their group participants take first place for their project on slinky structures and their reaction to earthquakes.  Turns out the taller the building the more likely it is to collapse.  A big high five to our budding architects.

Mrs. Parque’s Seventh Grade class also made a great showing at the Lassen County Science Fair.  For his research on the UV protection of hats, one student has been invited to attend the State Science Fair at the University of Southern California.

Mr. Sanchez’s Sixth Grade class took a trip to San Francisco and visited the University of California at Berkeley before they moved onto the De Young Museum to see the King Tut exhibit.  King Tut returned to the De Young Museum after fifty years; the artifacts are not to return again, as the Egyptian government has constructed a permanent museum in Cairo to house his remains.  This truly was a trip of a life time, and the kids loved it!

There is much more planned, so please continue to visit our site for updates.
