Third and Fourth grade is passionate about learning!!! We dedicate all classroom time to academic endeavors that will help shape and expand our minds.
The third and fourth grade students are currently working on developing narrative writing skills. They have been studiously editing paying close attention to the use of figurative language and plot. Student examples are to be uploaded soon.
Third graders are currently focusing on learning and expanding their knowledge of multiplication and division, while the fourth grade is being introduced algebraic concepts and the solving of one and two step equations.
Ipads- This past summer I bought an iPad with the intent of using it daily in an educational environment. That dream has yet to come to fruition… that was until, I found out that I might be getting iPads to pilot in my classroom this year. It was that possibility that got me back on to the iPad bandwagon.
This upcoming week I am going to be giving two children an iPad2 for all of their classroom work. These two children will do their writing, reading, math, and, since they tend to stay after school, their homework as well on their iPads. My hope is that I will be able to see if it is possible to incorporate tablets in the classroom as a tool for learning, instead of simply using them as a supplemental.
I will keep the page updated with any news. We will all see how this experiment works out.
