Lunch Distribution Letter (PDF File)

Dear Students, Parents and Caregivers:
Tuesday April 14, 2020, Fort Sage will be serving meals to anyone under the age of 18 in Herlong, and surrounding vicinity. We will have three distribution locations delivering both breakfast and lunch at the same time. We received a waiver allowing us the flexibility to offer meals on and off campus beginning on April 14, 2020. This waiver also allows us to serve any non-student under the age of 18.

I want to thank Janice Gotcher and her staff at the Herlong One Stop for providing meals as we waited for our waiver to serve meals. I know it was an enormous challenge, but everyone worked together to feed the students in our community.

I believe schools will continue to be closed beyond April 13, 2020. We receive information daily and it is constantly changing. I will continue to monitor the current situation in the State, Nation and locally and provide periodic updates on how Fort Sage Unified School District plans to respond.

Lunch and Breakfast service will meet the nutritional guideline for student nutrition and will begin on Tuesday April 14, 2020. The schedule of service and details are as follows:
• Lunches and Breakfasts will be Served on Tuesdays from 11:00am-11:30am
• We will have three locations to serve students in Herlong and the vicinity

o Long Valley Charter School 747-225 Main Street, Doyle, CA 96109 [Please see Long Valley Letter]

 • Five (5) Days of Breakfast and Lunches will be provided during this time
• Students should be present to obtain their meals. Parents and designees will be allowed to take meals on behalf of students but must sign for the meals with the names of the children and their birthdates.
• Families who fail to be at these locations will need to obtain their meals prior to 2:00pm at Sierra Primary School
Thank you for your cooperation and patience with us during this national crisis. We are doing everything to make this event as seamless as possible. We are not certain how long this will last but we are committed to our students.
